Saturday of the 3rd Week of Advent

O Root of Jesse,
You stand as a sign for the peoples;
before You kings shall keep silence
and to You all nations shall have recourse.
Come, save us, and do not delay.

A reflection on today's Sacred Scripture:

But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah,
because your prayer has been heard." (see Luke 1:13)

Today, the angel speaks to all of us. Every prayer is heard by God and accepted as the most precious of gifts. Often we are astounded and struck dumb, because, though we pray, we often do so forlornly, not even hoping properly for an answer.

Believe! Your prayers are heard AND answered in God's time and to the purpose of our good.

Believe, for God is with us now and always.
